With over 25 years of experience counseling individuals, couples, adolescents and families, I specialize in working with depression, anxiety, trauma, addictions, grief and loss. Many of my clients have also sought help with parenting, pain management and pregnancy/postpartum counseling and sleep issues. In addition to utilizing traditional therapeutic modalities, I have special training in mindfulness techniques, mind/body connectivity and cross-cultural identity and conflict.
My approach to therapy is supportive, educational, challenging and collaborative. When we begin to become aware of unconscious, habit-driven behaviors, we can learn to make conscious shifts in thoughts and behavior thus moving toward greater peace and happiness.
I believe that change can occur through relationship. Having a nurturing environment with which to look at difficult issues is the key to growth. I believe that finding the right therapist is very important to the process.
